The Position:

Neelands is searching for a Construction Start-Up Technician to join our team in Georgia. This position is regular, full-time. Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Construction Start-Up Technician will work closely with the team on repairs, installations, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of refrigeration systems. This role requires the individual to be available during the weekdays for flexible hours between 7:00am – 5:00pm and for “on-call” rotations for 24/7 coverage in multiple locations. The individual may be required to work weekends.



  • Response to service calls and scheduled maintenance and repairs for refrigeration and mechanical equipment
  • Read and understand blueprints
  • Perform diagnostics to detect malfunctions and defects in equipment
  • Install and weld equipment
  • Troubleshoot to ensure the system is functioning properly following repairs
  • Learn and perform proper service practices
  • Effectively communicate and update all information regarding assignments to the team
  • Assist in building service area and region
  • Provide own basic tools for the trade
  • Build and maintain positive relationship with customers or clients
  • Maintain service vehicle inventory and cleanliness
  • Other duties as required including working in other departments



  • Must have 2-4 years’ experience in servicing supermarkets or warehouse refrigeration racks
  • High school diploma or GED
  • EPA Certification Type 3 or 4
  • Valid State driver’s license and insurability in a company vehicle
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check and drug test
  • Must be reliable and able to travel within the state of Florida
  • Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is considered an asset
  • Ability to use hand and power tools is considered an asset
  • Brazing experience is considered an asset
