WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

Reporting to the Compliance Director, as the Policy Manager you are responsible for all aspects of Firma’s internal policy development and management in accordance with the global market legal and regulatory requirements.


More specifically your duties will include:

  • Driving continued improvement of the existing Compliance Program including the implementation of new regulatory requirements, controls, policies and procedures to achieve compliance with legal obligations and Company policy;
  • Authoring of Compliance policies, control procedures, and standards;
  • Facilitating implementation of new or revised policies including delivery of training;
  • Conducting ongoing gap analysis of policies and procedures, and supporting the remediation of any identified gaps;
  • Based on departmental objectives, defining the scope of assignment projects in collaboration with senior management, and ensuring that associated deliverables are completed within prescribed timeframes;
  • Building strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders by leveraging effective communication, relationship management and negotiation skills;
  • Liaising as required with other staff and control functions, including Enterprise Risk, Internal Audit, Finance, and other Compliance functions/resources;
  • Continually building knowledge and acumen in all aspects of the organization, the business, processes and communications and change management methodologies, best practices; and
  • Other duties as maybe be required from time to time.

WHAT DO YOU BRING?

  • Demonstrated experience in writing policy documents, conducting and applying research, and providing feedback and recommendations to senior management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial services regulatory environment and applicable laws and regulations;
  • Working knowledge of risk and control frameworks such as: COSO Internal Controls Framework, COBIT, or ISO 37301:2021
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Communications, or similar.
  • Effective communicator, persuasive and influential. Demonstrated experience in presenting formally and informally to senior management, regulatory authorities, and business partners in writing, presentations, and other forums.
  • Ability to read and interpret applicable laws & regulations and understand how regulatory requirements are implemented in business lines.
  • Ability to organize yourself and others.

Bonus Points For:

  • Previous experience in Internal Audit or leading a team
  • COSO Internal Controls Certificate.
